Filming day three
Good evening my dear readers!
Today was filming day three, where we shot the classroom scene between Margo and Liam, this shot is vital to the opening since it is the sho that fully reveals exactly what is going to occur in the movie, it is the climax, and opening insight into what is to come. In this shot Margo stressfully walks into her study hall class and has an encounter with her boyfriend Liam, this is the vital moment where she tells Liam that she is leaving. We move on to find out that Liam is planning on coming with Margo, we decided to include this to show the strength of love between Liam and Margo.
Before filming we started shooting out ideas on where we wanted to film this shot, at first we wanted to shot this clip in Ms.Marchetti's classroom but we came to conclusion that we are going to film nowhere else. Why? well there were multiple other rooms discussing their openings in the room, we needed the sound to be able to focus only on what we are saying. The background noises were going to negatively affect the outcome of our opening and make it seem somewhat messy which we obviously did not want. We later on decided that we were going to film this shot in the school media center since it is usually very quite and the desks were arraigned exactly how we wanted them to fit the classroom scene. This was the perfect place because it was quite and allowed there to be focus only on what we were saying and fit the setting that we are looking to show.
This is what our setting looked like the (cypress bay media center) :
On the contrary of this picture that specific day where we filmed there were desks set up because of a previous test that had been taken there a couple days before, and thankfully it was completely empty so we could talk in the volume in which we needed too.
In this shot of our opening we needed there to be background students so we used, Isabella and Sara as well as Rafael to be in the background as students as Liam and Margo where the main focus of the scene.
We started this scene by filling Margo with the camera as she stressfully walks into the media center and sits down as if she is hiding something, Liam was worried about Margo since it clearly looked like she was hiding something. In order to clearly show this Margo was shaking her feet, playing with her hair checking her phone every five seconds which are all typical things a person does when they are nervous or stressed about a situation. We did multiple shots to show different parts of the conversation which I will be discussing in my next blog post!
